Quality Manager - Independence, OH - 68 - 75K - No relo, No sponsorship Manufacturing company in Independence, OH is looking for an aggressive, energetic, and professional Quality/EHS Manager to manage its Quality functions related to plating and other surface engineering technologies. In addition ensure that the products and services conform to all applicable quality assurance specifications, both government and commercial & conduct testing on all products to ensure quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the division’s Quality Assurance Systems. Represent the division with customers in regards to quality and environmental issues. Maintain and expand, where necessary, the division’s third party quality certifications and registrations. Maintain the division’s Process Manual. Review and continuously improve all of the division’s business processes from order entry to engineering to solution manufacturing. Review high profile, high volume, and/or complex contract manufacturing jobs from a process engineering standpoint. Ensure that the Material Data Safety Sheets corresponding to all solutions are accurate, up-to-date, and in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Work cooperatively with the Operations Manager to develop proper manufacturing release documentation. Work cooperatively with the Operations, HR, Inside Sales, and R&D Managers to develop and implement a comprehensive plating technician training program. Work cooperatively with the Management Team to develop and implement an effective Continuous Improvement program Work to develop and maintain a safe workplace. Work to decrease the impact of the division’s operations on the environment. Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations. Work to decrease the division’s costs of hazardous waste handling and disposal as a percentage of sales. Hire, retain, develop, and motivate the department’s staff. Prepare and managed the departments budgets. Qualifications Business or engineering undergraduate degree. Minimum 7 years experience leading a Quality Assurance and EHS function in a multi-facility, chemical manufacturing environment. Ability to enforce a comprehensive quality system which encompasses all aspects of business operations. Experience implementing NADCAP & ISO-AS Strong analysis, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
