Director of Network Operations/Retail

Director Network Operations Center Location: Columbus, Ohio Salary: 120 – 140K with 20 – 30% Bonus Potential Major National Retailer Position Summary: Strategically directs and maximizes the overall activities of Computer Operations, IT Help Desk and POS Repair department to achieve specific company goals within available resources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following): 1. Prepares annual budge requests. 2. Monitors and approves expenditures in assigned areas to assure sound fiscal cost control. 3. Consults with management to determine information requirements and discusses system needs. 4. Excellent written, oral, communications skills. 5. Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for new projects. 6. Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans. 7. Hires, trains, motivates and evaluates staff managers and others within department. 8. Reviews progress of projects and directs changes as needed to meet datelines. 9. Prepares a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision making purposes. 10. Makes periodic presentations to management and other associates. 11. Maintains vendor relationships and negotiates major purchases to maximize cost reduction. 12. Responsible for ensuring quality is delivered in project rollouts. 13. Oversee monitoring, operational and support aspects of all computer equipment including desktops, servers and POS repair. 14. Responsible for development and improvements in: establishing quality standards, developing escalation procedures, trouble ticket management, development of SLA and key performance indicators. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Five to Seven years of increasing IT related responsibility including managing a 24 X 7 call center and data center with experience in a mixture of system architectures including IBM iSeries, pSeries and Intel servers. Previous application development experience desired. 2. Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology. 3. Strong, effective communication skills are essential, both written and oral. 4. Demonstrated experience and success in working with Directors and Top Management Team members. 5. Retail experience preferred. 6. Must have successful project management experience. PMI certification preferred. 7. Ability to influence and lead team members. 8. Ability to articulate with effective presentations.
